About the Tour
The Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour began in 1999. It is a biennial, week-long bike tour through Texas held to bring awareness of the need for life-saving donations. The 2023 tour will kick off in Dallas on October 6th and continue on a counter clockwise route to conclude in Tyler on October 12th. Please check the local events for more information.

The Riders and Honorees
Eleven non-professional riders, whose lives have been touched by donations as a recipient, family member, donor or advocate will be selected to ride in the event.
Each day of the tour, the participants ride in honor of a Texan in need of a transplant. Local areas select these honorees from their community. The tour typically covers 600 miles throughout Texas. Local events in communities throughout the route are planned to offer an opportunity to participate by donating blood, registering for the Be The Match Registry and signing an organ and tissue donation card.
Recipients, donors and donor families also attend to share their experiences and answer questions.

Local Events and Honorees
Our 2023 Route, local events and honorees
Each day of the tour, the team rides into an event to promote blood, marrow, stem cells, organ and tissue donation. These events are designed to be educational and all are welcome.
The riders ride the day of the event in honor of someone in that local area who has been a donor, recipient, or advocate of donation. Those honorees, or their families, attend the event to meet the rider who rode for them that day. During the presentation, all of the riders are introduced and tell why they are riding, then they introduce the honoree they rode for that day and tell their story.
